I wasn't having these issues on Windows on that same build so my guess is this one is a Linux-specific problem.

It's possible, although I haven't gotten to test it myself lately. The install guide on the wiki was recently updated by someone that got it working. Maybe something in there can help. For reference, could you share which specific MoltenVK you're trying to use?
