Hello,

I've been hopping between engines and frameworks for a while and over time I developed my own toolset based on Vulkan and SDL in C++. With the news of BRUTAL being made open source I was very excited to try and port parts of my games to use it and hopefully move towards a more C# toolset.

While messing about with making things using BRUTAL, I have not been able to find any examples of the things in BRUTAL being used. Things such as Vulkan instance creation and SDL initialisation. Exploring the code is intuitive enough for most things but when it comes to things like CreateInfo structures, I'm a bit curious what the "intended" way of dealing with the unsafe structures are from a game/high-level engine perspective.

I could keep going and simply implement my own abstractions on top of everything but then I'm worried there's little point in including a framework if I'm simply building against bindings. Curious to see what people/devs think about this.

Again, thanks for your contributions to open source software!

Examples will come through from us soon, but you can jump on the Ahwoo discord if you want to see people sharing code in real-time.

I’m certain there are a few more who are just hoping someone will prod them into sharing as well!

I did an explanation of our abstraction policy on discord about an hour ago, and in another forum post here I’ve detailed my perspective on the difference between BRUTAL and Silk.Net.

Where do we find the link to this mentioned Ahwoo Discord Server? Only the KSA Discord appears to be publicly linked anywhere
