Water World (No Terrain on Earth)

No matter what my graphics settings, no terrain is rendered.

No idea what the reproduction is, this is running via Steam Proton 9 on MX Linux 23 (Debian-Based) KDE-Wayland.

It seems to be the current state under Linux. If you zoom out, you will eventually see a texture applied to earth. (But that is not really generated terrain.)
