If you weren't already aware, some community members have been working on a KSA Wiki roughly since when the game was announced. We are using Wiki.gg, home of the wikis for Satisfactory, Deep Rock Galactic, Terraria, and more. We just overhauled the main page so I thought it would be a good time to make a post here. We've been doing a lot of infrastructural work and covering game content where available. Most things are still WIP but some current things of note include:

  • Editor noticeboard for wiki status overview and help
  • Version history overview & individual version pages
  • Custom templates for easy editing and info display
  • Lots of documentation
  • Translation options

We are always open to new editors! We have useful info on how to help all in the sidebar. Feel free to visit, read what we have, and make some edits. You can chat with us via wiki or on our Discord.

We'll see you in the edit history!

P.S. Shoutout to my fellow editors @TROPtastic @Narnianknight @irasponsible and the rest!

Looking good, team! Keep up the good work.

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to having a handful of parts to fill some detail pages on and make tables with. I'm a sucker for a nice table.

Great progress so far! 😁 I'd be interested in contributing soon, probably after more content is added to the game.
Absolutely! As more gets added we’ll be sure we’re ready for it. Hope to see you around 🫡

great progress! I've noticed that there are two wiki's now for some reason. this https://kittenspaceagency.wiki/ and then also this https://kittenspaceagency.wiki.gg, the first one appears to have a modding wiki as well. I'm also getting a warning whenever I go to https://kittenspaceagency.wiki.gg. I'm not sure why! So which one do I use?

The Wiki.gg option is the original and has been worked on for over a year now. I’d recommend this one since it’s more established, under decentralized ownership, and a more familiar wiki experience.

The other wiki was started this week after a member of the modding society bought that url, unprompted by anyone on the wiki team. We were asked to migrate all of our work to this self-hosted domain from an unknown user and politely declined for a variety of reasons.

If you could share anything else (picture?) about this warning though I’d be interested to see. Thanks!

I don't have an image because it doesn't show up anymore, but google said like are you sure this might be a scam site and said that scammers can alter url's and stuff and it directed me to kittenspaceagency.wiki. I think it's google's fault

I'm in the modding discord and I don't think these people are unknown, I don't know who you are either even though I've seen your name

That’s a strange message I’ve never heard reported before. There’s no reason you should be directed to another domain like that. Was this on a monitored network (school, office, etc.)? Wiki.gg is a legitimate website that should never cause alerts like that on a regular connection. If you ever see it again please do share!

I meant “unknow” as in unknown to the wiki team. No real history in our server or editing on the wiki. The hosting topic had already been discussed and settled on multiple times before by our regulars.

No it was google's warning saying malicous people could impersonate url's in this case it said kittenspaceagency.wiki.gg impersonated kittenspaceagency.wiki that's why it gave me the warning

Interesting. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

In any case I promise our url is totally legit. 👍

Even as an admin on the newer wiki, I must say that for now you should use the wiki.gg wiki. Only reason to use our wiki right now is modding, since the wiki.gg wiki has almost no information on how to mod

I always offer to give you guys a linux instance where you can setup whatever KSA related stuff you want. even wikis that get auto mirrored to archive.org :)
We'll certainly keep it in mind (especially since you've been running SpaceDock for a decade)! For right now we're ok on wiki.gg, and a move to Weird Gloop has been floated a couple of times, but (especially since we just got kinda domain-sniped) we're probably not moving soon.

Genuinely appreciate the offer though!

Always happy to accept any help filling it out! We were originally planning a /Modding: namespace to fill with modding information, and still might to fill it out with some of the basics, but it's all a bit in-flux until the modding scene (and game's codebase) stabilizes.
