As KSA is not on (will never be on?) Steam, an entry for it will never be on protondb. So, I created a page for it on WineHQ's AppDB.

I've noticed this as well. I can only get the framerate to be limited by my monitor's refresh rate or unlimited.
And for what it's worth, I'm on Linux with an AMD GPU.
So, for what it's worth. I just launched the game on my wife's PC. It has an older NVidia card in it. A GTX 1080 Ti. The game ran pretty poorly. But it did render the terrain.
For what it's worth, I'm on Ubuntu 24.04 and the version of protontricks that was getting installed by default from the Ubuntu repos was too old. I needed to remove that and install protontricks with pipx. The older version didn't yet have dotnet9 as an option for install.
I think we really need sections or categories (not sure what they'd be called on this forum) for Linux, Mac, etc. There are alot of people who are not gonna be playing this on Windows.

You're not getting an out of memory error. The log you posted says "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt."
You could try setting this environment variable: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ntdll.dll=b"
