Although this didn't completely solve my system wide choppiness issue while playing the game, it surprisingly did improve it for once! Game is still unplayable for me because it's still extremely choppy while trying to land on the moon however I would still highly recommend that people try this...

I actually have a Dell G15 5535 Gaming Laptop. Interesting enough, the shared memory on the graphics card is also capped, staying at 0.2/7.7 GB. The only other game I've seen this happen with is actually Kerbal Space Program with a lot of visual mods, but even then it hasn't been nearly this bad...
