Cannot open Solar System or Moon, but can open Earth Only

I looked through some threads about not being able to load the game, but no one seems to have this particular issue.

In my case, I can open the Earth Only just fine, but the Solar System and Earth and Moon options fail to load. It cycles through the screen of text showing what is loading and then just crashes.

Has anybody encountered this variant of the problem?

Yes, I had the same thing happening. I turned down the shadows and textures to lower values to get it to load. I have an RTX 3070 8GB btw.

Yes, having the same problem. Noticed my VRAM consumption maxed out on SS and E&M, and the game seems to not want to draw from the shared RAM/VRAM pool. Reviewing further it seems to be taking ~5GB of regular RAM, which should not be enough to overload my system (I have 24GB). I have an RTX 3060 6GB
