I do modelling in Blender and there are some amazing 3D Artists here. So thought it wold be nice to have a place to share work and discuss projects and
3D modelling/art in general.

Alright here is some of my stuff:

This is one of two very highly poly (since no poly budget) models i made (mainly) for my fellow artists on DeviantArt, many thousands of whom were following my work, since up until then they had only seen my 2D paintings.

Being a popular artist among a community of artists, and a former moderator/community volunteer of the 3D part of that site at that, i felt i should set the bar pretty high, also as an independant illustrator, since most of my work went straight in to corporate/government black holes, i felt this would be a great portfolio opportunity, and so this was the result:

As a lifetime 3DsMax user at the time, i had originaly shared the 3DSMax Source of this free for all to use, more recently i learned Blender and decided to use this model to help me learn that, and so the above renders and textures are me exporting the whole thing to Blender, then re-texturing it from scratch, and so now it is also available for Blender users to use for free as CC0.

Infinite_Spaces do you have anny more spaceflight related renders/models?

Sadly no, while i did make lots of cool technical designs over the decades, those were for paying customers so i never really had an excuse to invest the time in the things i really loved myself, though having said that i am now retired, and intend to finaly study it all properly to make parts for KSA once the game is a little more mature.

This looks absoiutely insane. The detail and the Textures are amazing. AMAZE AMAZE AMAZE!!!
Thanks, glad you liked it! My way of making models was always about using polys to do the heavy lifting wherever possible, kinda opposite to the way games are done. Will be interesting to switch things up for KSA.

Thinking about making a Blue Origin (New Glenn 7x2, 9x4 Blue Moon) Mod once the part system is finallzed and you can acually launch rockets
I look forwards to flying them! Im still unsure on where i will start, maybe some stylized retro comic looking parts (like Tin-Tin's Rocket), or steampunk themed parts, or once i know the game can handle it modular parts for a space elevator, which has always been a dream of mine. Longer term plan though is once i fully learn the process and get good at optimizing, to remake the Lunar Rover from scratch as a modular parts set for KSA.

Infinite_Spaces how do you texture your models? In Blender or other software?

I can paint in 2D so i used to make them in photoshop as needed, lately i have discovered awesome sites like AmbientCG where you can get them at very good quality for use as CC0 which allows for commercial use without credit, those are fine for mods so i will likely use a mix of those and hand make them when needed. Also yes on Blender, the nodes thingy is awesome, though im still getting used to that.
