Flashing bugged cloud shadows on earth

What you were trying to do - Look at proper cloud shadows
What happened instead - The cloud shadows were warped and flashing
What you expected to happen - Cloud shadows not flashing or distorting

Specs: GTX 1080 8GB VRAM,
Intel Core i7-8700K
16 GB DDR4 Ram
Windows 10 (End of life, I know)

I tried restarting the game and modifying settings and tweaking various values but was struggling to fix this. This happens on a brand new fresh install of the game. over various restarts.

Same issue, fixed by turning off in settings: 'Graphics - Shadows - Clouds - Off'

Seems to be a pascal and earlier issue, funny thing is I can run this game at 60fps at 3440x1440 high settings, so my GPU isn't powerful enough, just old?

Hi @blackrack, I'm the person experiencing this issue.

I captured a RenderDoc frame with the issue visible. I wasn't sure whether posting .rdc captures publicly is preferred, so I sent it to you via DM to be safe.

Thank you, unfortunately these captures can't be replayed on cards of different series (tested with 20-series and 50-series cards).
It could be worth it to try and make a nsight c++ capture instead (instructions here https://docs.nvidia.com/nsight-graphics/UserGuide/generate-cpp-activity.html), it's a bit more fiddly to setup but might work.

Thank you, this worked perfectly and I've been able to debug and fix the issue.
You'll be able to test the fix in the next version.

This is now reported fixed in version 2025.12.11.3082 by user Red Sun on discord who uses a 1060 6GB
