I don't think there's any user directory of that sort. The closest I can find is being able to search by username and finding a profile from there. That could be a handy feature though, some QOL is always nice. I've moved this thread to Ahwoo Feedback and Suggestions.

They should be in C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\My Games\Kitten Space Agency\Logs

Can you find any log files that give any info for the crash?

I wasn't having these issues on Windows on that same build so my guess is this one is a Linux-specific problem.
