I think I found a bit of a rendering bug. The desired orbit is free roaming around my monitor!

You have actually described what we've been told to expect! Reaction wheels are planned and they are going to be much less potent than KSP's. They're really going to be for holding things in position long-term at very low torque, compared to RCS for more rapid motion and greater forces.

The orientations of the capsule and controls match KSP's default now. Going east when launching is as easy as pressing "D". I suggest enabling the "RATE" mode and setting the navball to "SURF". This has your rocket maintain it's orientation and sets the navball relative to the body surface.

Definitely the Solar System should stick around. I think the way things are put together will make it easy to load as a separate system. Already there are the options to load Earth/Earth+Luna/Solar System/Dense Solar System so in the future I can see Custom System/Solar System/Etc. instead.
