    The Sun is an object in the system, its size in the sky depends solely on your distance from it. Its angular size from Earth is around 0.5°, so with the default 50° FOV, it would have a diameter of ~11 pixels on a screen 1080 pixels tall.

    Because the toe of the tone curve works differently for each of them. Some transition to black very gradually, others very abruptly. In the former case, you'll notice the issue, and in the latter case you won't.

    The real issue is that the relative brightnesses of stars are not accurate, they're compressed into a very small range. In reality, most of those stars should be either invisible or barely visible, atmosphere or no.

    The background starfield is horizontally (east-west) mirrored compared to reality. In addition, the star Betelgeuse is missing.

    There's nothing wrong there, it's a limitation of 8-bit per channel color only having 256 levels of brightness. What you're seeing is a transition between 0 and the next lowest value (1/255). The issue with your HDR mode is extremely poor display calibration coupled with KSA not supporting HDR...
