In the military, it is an incredibly well studied phenomenon about how combat stress alters your ability to make sound decisions and judgement and the threshold is based on a few features.
  • Individual Features: Training, Exposure, Veterancy
  • Unit Features: Morale, Numbers, Technology, Tactics
  • Engagement Features: Force Disparity, Enemy Capability, Combat Intensity, Operational Pressure, Tactical Advantage
(Edited because I posted this trying to indent a paragraph prematurely)

The commanders in the Liberation Army demonstrate an incredible lack of task degradation under combat pressure. They charge headfirst into fights and their ability to deploy grenades is almost guaranteed rather than situational. Anecdotally, I have witnessed multiple commanders deploying grenades simultaneously onto one tile, suggesting that their behavior is opportunistic or even predetermined rather than adaptive.

I think it would be a significant improvement and reduce grenade spam if commanders each individually could experience task degradation influenced by suppression, unexpected enemy force concentration, casualties, and possible positional disadvantages. As they accumulate, I feel AI should make mistakes and become susceptible to hesitating, errors, failing to complete tasks or charges, or even retreating rather than consistently executing these behaviors.

AI Spamming 8-9 grenades on one spot the moment they see the opening with a perfectly executed grenade cluster volley. This is usually what ends these Fob rounds.
AI Throws grenade at their own feet. Occurs at 0:50. They even juggle it between each other.
