Title: GEE - General Earth Enhancements (OpenStreetMap buildings, city lights, satellite imagery, launch complexes)

GEE - General Earth Enhancements puts the real world on Earth: buildings and roads from OpenStreetMap around the camera, city lights at night, and satellite imagery when you look down from altitude.

182b5420-def4-4524-948c-f4d95229c17e

Features
  • Buildings and roads from OpenStreetMap, streamed around the camera, with facades, roofs, details nearby and lit windows. The game's trees are cleared from roads and buildings.
  • Far field: simplified buildings out to tens of kilometres, so cities stay visible after launch.
  • Night: lit windows, street lights in towns, and city lights visible from orbit.
  • Satellite imagery (Sentinel-2 cloudless, 2016) from altitude.
  • Launch complexes at all of the game's Earth pads: LC-39A/B with the VAB and a crew access arm, Starbase, ELA-4, SLC-4E and LC-1.
Every part can be switched off on its own in the mod window. The mod needs an internet connection the first time an area is shown and caches what it downloads.

Extract the zip into Documents/My Games/Kitten Space Agency/mods/ so that you get mods/GEE/mod.toml. Needs StarMap 0.4.8 or newer.

Heads-up: this mod was programmed entirely by Claude (Anthropic's AI). It's a beta and a hobby project, so expect rough edges. Ideas and bug reports are very welcome, here or as a GitHub issue: https://github.com/KarloDerEchte/KSA-GEE-General-Earth-Enhancements/issues
