This is based both on the KSP forum’s never-ending word-editing experiment by Deddly and sentence games on other forums.

The game is quite fun. The goal is to create a constantly evolving story about anything and/or anyone.

The rules:
In each post, you are to add, change, or remove a word.
Your turn is not used up by punctuation, capitalization, or anything reasonably similar to the example function words:
  • the
  • a/an
  • and, but, yet, for, so
  • he, she, they, it
  • to
  • are, be, is
  • at
  • of
The story should remain coherent: it shouldn’t become a mess of haphazardly placed words.

If the story is getting too stale and repetitive, you are allowed to vote (talk until majority agree) for a restart

Example
Person1: Cranberry
Person2: Cranberry pies
Person3: Cranberry pies are delicious
Person2: Apple pies are delicious
I recommend that you copy and paste the story before editing.

Let the game begin! 😃 The first word

Would space whales still be swimming if sunlight stopped providing safe, splendid radiance? Nay,

(Also @Terra Incognita did you intend "splendid" to be bold for some effect in the story, or just to indicate that it was the added word?)

Would space whales still be swimming if sunlight stopped providing safe, splendid radiance? Nay, unfortunately

(Yes, I added the bold to highlight the change. Apologies for any confusion!)
