Edit: (Scroll down for my solving) TL;DR: I would initially download KSA installer via Google Chrome. Downloading from Firefox works.
Expected:
As per previous versions of KSA, installation is successful once I:
- Downloaded the installer
- Executed the installer
- Chose a file path for the installation
- Installation happens (green progression bar fills up completely)
- The shortcut on my desktop blinks, replacing the older version of the game, if I prompted the "Add a shortcut" checkbox option.
What happens:
- I download the installer
- I execute the installer
- I choose a file path for the installation
- Installation begins, but suddenly stops when it comes to extracting the file "D:\Program Files\Kitten Space Agency\Content\Core\Textures\Content\Core\Textures\Mars_Noise.png" flagging it as corrupted.
- Antivirus (Bitdefender):

Now, there are 3 options made available to me. I can either Try Again, Skip this file or Cancel the installation.
If I try again, it repeats the same error message without any progress in the installation. If I skip, the next file in line ( \Mars_Normal.dds ) is corrupted. If I cancel - well, the changes are reverted fine.
I posted on the KSA Discord server a screenshot of the error message window: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme...f382d042b877f2a4ec4d7cd8c11ec55359b021cb97e8&
Is it possible the installer itself is damaged? Let's say KSA's installer is hosted on multiple servers around the world, and there is that one host that has a malfunctioning hard drive. Could that explain why I'm - so far - the only one affected by this?

- Antivirus (Bitdefender):
+ disabling it, installing KSA, corruption, failure.
+ Whitelisting the installer by adding its path in Bitdefender, disabling Bitdefender, installing KSA, corruption, failure.
+ Updating Bitdefender, attempting the above once again, failure.
- VPN (NordVPN):+ Disconnecting the VPN connection, re-attempting installation, failure.
-Steam (I am very suspicious of Valve hehehe):+ Closing the application, re-attempting installation, failure.
SOLVE: Re-downloading the installer via Firefox allowed me to successfully install KSA. Before that, I would download the installer from Chrome. I clicked on "help" in Chrome, and it seemed it was outdated as it started downloading an update. Meanwhile, I re-downloaded the KSA installer via Firefox... Very odd. But it works, now.
