Pronouns are important information for any platform where people are communicating.
If I need to refer to something someone else has said, I'd need to say something like "@user123 said that [they]'d used an RD-107, not an RD-108, which is why [they] didn't have enough delta-v", and if a user cares to fill in the profile field, being able to see how I should refer to the other user is important.

I can work around this by putting them in my signature block, but that's a workaround. Ideally it would display on the left, under a user's profile image and title.

Hey everyone,

All forum posts should be constructive and help build our community. This is especially important in suggestion threads. Both the original suggestions and the replies need to be specific and thoughtful.

What this means:
If you're going to comment on a suggestion, explain your reasoning. One-word responses like "+1", "-1", or "please no" don't add anything to the conversation. If you can't or won't articulate why you support or oppose an idea, then either use the upvote feature or don't post.

✅ "I support this because it would solve [specific problem]"
✅ "I'm concerned this might create [specific issue] because..."
✅ "This is similar to [other game/feature] and here's what I learned from that..."
❌ "+1"
❌ "No thanks"
❌ "This would ruin everything"

Why this matters:
Developers and decision-makers read these threads to understand why the community wants or doesn't want something. Low-effort replies create noise that buries valuable feedback.

We don't have a formal rule for this yet, but we're enforcing it now based on Rule 0 (use common sense) and Rule 3 (keep discussions on-topic). If you see comments that are just noise, please report them.

This is pretty much what a signature block is for otherwise everyone just speaks gender neutral and it becomes irrelevant. I personally don't think it would be a necessary field but It also wouldn't affect me in the slightest if it were added.

I don't think this is a good idea, this forum should be focused on KSA itself.
The ability for any given user to display how they should be referred to doesn't make the forum any less focused on KSA - it's a bit strange to suggest it does. The forum is a place to communicate, pronouns are a part of effective communication.

As Captain Pirate said, it would not affect anyone negatively. At the same time, it would be nice to set pronouns, I'd definitely appreciate it. It also makes no sense to suggest this in any way detracts from KSA as the focus of the forum.

Having them in the signature is not ideal because then they're far away from your name. Really, you want to have pronouns displayed right next to your name so all the releveant information for how to adress someone is in one place and not scattered.

Ok, someone needs to say it out-laud, apparently:
This field became a way to state political allegiance. I rather prefer to not know it, like in good old times. I would prefer it to stay outside this place and just have a fun with the game what we are there for.

I need to be clear about something: Pronouns aren't political. Everyone has pronouns - he, she, they, etc. They're just part of how we refer to people in conversation.

Suggesting that letting people display their pronouns is a political statement is itself bringing politics into this discussion. The suggestion is about adding an optional communication tool to help people address each other correctly when discussing KSA. That's it.

Our no politics rule (rule 4) exists to keep discussions focused on the game and community. If you have specific concerns about how this feature might be misused or create moderation issues, please share those. "I consider this topic political" isn't a reason to reject a suggestion. That's just making the thread about politics when it doesn't need to be.

Let's keep feedback focused on the practical aspects of the suggestion itself, everyone.

The issue is, we can't even discuss this topic without breaching rule 4:

> Suggesting that letting people display their pronouns is a political statement is itself bringing politics into this discussion
The bringing the this proposal was the political move. All what followed is just the reaction. You can see how strong some people reacted.

As example, I pretty sure in case if I fill in "Attack Helicopter" or "His Majesty" in hypothetical pronoun field I will be banned pretty fast.
I have more arguments and examples to add, but I will limit at that. I guess, this is all I willing to say on this topic as situation stands.
