Sun only visible from one side

I put Gemini7 in a tight orbit of the Sun then saved the game. When I reloaded the Sun was the focus and was only visible from one side. Closed the game, restarted and loaded the save multiple times - problem is consistent.
What I did:

1. Load the game - all textures/shadows 4K Earth only
2. Acknowledge the into screen
3. File | Save/Load - select Solar1 (Attached)
4. Confirm - yes
5. Close the "game saves" window
6. Pan out so you can see Gemini7
7. Pan around the Sun - Sun not visible for about half of the pan

64GB RAM Speed 4800
RTX 3060 12GB VRAM

Note: turning the widgets on in the menu does not cause them to show.
