Hello all!

There's been a lot of talk since Artemis II about getting KSA involved with Artemis III, IV, and other space missions. It got me thinking about other ways the game could capitalize on space-related hype. Well there happens to be a major total solar eclipse coming up in 2028!

And guess where it'll be passing right over...

New Zealand.
The motherland!

Auckland will be getting ~70% and Dunedin is dead center in the Path of Totality.

Eclipses this big always get a lot of coverage and tourism. I'm sure a lot of people will be coming to NZ just to see this. It might not be as big of a deal as manned lunar exploration, but still pretty exciting and right in the developers' backyard. KSA already handles eclipses pretty well. Distributing a pre-baked scenario of the event / being able to sync the game to the realtime data (like this) could be cool. It's something for the RW/Ahwoo teams to consider using to KSA's advantage.

You've got two years to think it over!

Ive thought about this for a while and I got to the idea of something like an "Events" UI in the game, where you can load different events that'll happen in the future or that already happened. So people when interested, could easily load up for example Artemis III choose a timeline and then either play it themselves or just watch it just like the https://forums.ahwoo.com/threads/artemis-oem-loader.857/ mod did.

Would something like this be an idea to consider or something that isnt really necessary or should be implemented in a different way?

I think in some way the general idea will find its way to the game. Custom start scenarios either as official things or modding them in.
