Changelog 2026-10-18 (0eed799f2)

MK19 mounted grenade launcher

  • The M2 tripod now takes a second gun: the MK19 automatic grenade launcher. Attach it to a placed tripod with the MK19 from its case (about six seconds), then mount and brace exactly as on the M2.
  • It feeds from a seated MK19 ammo box (40mm) holding 31 HE rounds. Seat the box on the mounted gun the same way you load the M2, and eject it the same way when it runs dry. The HUD chip shows the rounds left in the box.
  • Rounds lob out to 20 tiles through the same 40mm pipeline as the hand launchers, impact fused by default.
  • Both are in the W-Y ATM: the MK19 case (tripod, launcher, one ammo box, a packet of HE rounds, screwdriver) for 3000, and a spare MK19 ammo box for 1300.
  • Because the tripod now carries either gun, the kit item, the placed structure and its build recipe all read "weapon tripod" instead of "M2 tripod".

Combat

  • Shooting down a chimney or a stacked hole now sends the round all the way to the deck you aimed at. Before, only one deck up or down worked and a longer shot silently fired on your own deck with no deny cue (bug report 1266). Five of the six shipped maps have four layers, so this came up a lot.

Maps

  • Hot lava on LV376 now charges its own wade slowdown: four times normal walking ticks, with a new IN LAVA moodlet showing the speed loss. Players were crossing lava to hold points no AI could path to, since lava only ever cost the same as wading water. Every mover pays it, the queen and the Old One included.

Inventory

  • ATM purchases of stackable lines (sheets, rods and the like) now land merged into stacks up to the stack cap instead of one single item per count. Ten sheets arrive as one stack of ten, not ten loose sheets filling the crate.

Languages

  • Spanish picks up 78 new rows: the elevator panel and lines, the TIG-2 thermal goggles, tropical flora, the crew monitor offline line, the lethal conditions group and the codex size letters.

Fixes

  • The game no longer needs a Vulkan 1.3 loader to start. Machines on older drivers (Intel UHD 620 on a 1.1 driver was the reporter) got an "Entry Point Not Found" dialog before any game code ran (bug report 1367).
  • A failure during startup now shows a proper OS dialog naming what went wrong, including the Vulkan version your driver needs when no usable GPU is found. Before, the console flashed and closed with nothing to read.

Server

  • The dedicated server now sizes its AI and pathing worker threads to the host's cores (cores minus one, capped at 8) instead of the test-suite default of a quarter. On the 4 vCPU uswest box that was one AI thread and one path solver; with 14k zombies at wave 8 every tick ran 50 to 80 ms while the box idled at 18 percent CPU. Path waits dropped from 73 ms to 24 ms. Override with --job-runners and --path-runners.
