Strong and Rescuer characters can now fireman carry a downed person instead of dragging them, so the Engineer, Fire Fighter and Pyro can get people out of a fight at walking pace. A landing Huey no longer turns everyone under it into paste, the hull takes damage for what it crushes, and a Handy engineer can weld that damage back with plasteel. The damage marks now show on the doors and nose too.
Fireman carry
- Characters with the Strong or Rescuer trait (Engineer, Fire Fighter, the Anomaly Engineer and Fire Fighter, and the Marine Pyro) can right-click anyone lying down that they're pulling and pick Carry. Two seconds later the body is up on your back and you walk at full speed, with no pull slowdown, and the PULLING chip reads CARRYING.
- The carry holds through stairs, ladders, ledges, cade and table vaults, Huey doors and the elevator, so you can get someone from the field into the cabin without putting them down.
- If you get knocked down, buckled, shoved off the tile, or the person you're carrying stands up, it drops back to an ordinary drag. A carried bleeder still drips blood, it just doesn't smear a trail.
Huey
- Landing on someone no longer gibs them every time. 20 percent of the time they still get pasted, otherwise they're thrown two tiles sideways clear of the hull, knocked out for 4 seconds, every limb takes a heavy hit with a 50 percent chance to break and a 50 percent chance to be torn off. If there's nowhere to throw them (a wall, a crowd) they get crushed as before.
- Crushing people costs the hull. A human is one rifle round's worth of hull damage, a drone five, a royal guard ten, a queen twenty, so landing on five queens wrecks the Huey outright. A hull that breaks on touchdown crashes on the ground.
- A Handy character (Engineer, the ERT and Sorokyne pilots, the Anomaly Engineer) can weld the hull with a lit welder in one hand and plasteel in the other, clicked on the grounded Huey. A dead hull takes 40 sheets, a scratched one takes one, scaled by how much damage there is, and the hover hint tells you the count. Taking more hits mid-weld raises the bill.
- Hull damage marks now also show on both doors and the nose overlay, each with its own pattern, so a shot-up Huey looks shot up from any side.
- The hand-held flamer's pilot flame rises straight up from the nozzle instead of pointing down the barrel like the turret's.
Server
- The production client's terminal keeps only player settings, chat, read-only diagnostics for bug reports (map, netdebug, renderstats, gpustats, siminfo, simhash and friends) and the five render kill switches. Teleport, spawn, lighting overrides, dread, timeoverride and the tuning knobs are development-build only now.
