Set AA to off before loading. Once loaded increase AA and focus on Hunter the cat. He becomes squished and camera is offset. Changing focus back and forth does not fix either problem but other vessels are fine. Changing AA to 8x makes the issues worse but 4x only has the camera offset. Setting AA to what it was originally fixes the issues.
If AA is turned down (2x to off, 8x to 2x etc) while in game viewing Hunter (either by switching to him or by simply hitting apply while he is on screen) will crash the game unless that setting has been previously applied by increasing the setting to it or a higher value than (causing the previous bug) or by loading the game with the AA already set to that value. For example increasing from 2x to 8x will let you change to 4x but changing to off will crash.
