WHAT HAPPENED vs WHAT WAS EXPECTED
  • Sun is set well below horizon, yet craft is completely lit. (Craft should be in shadow)
REPRODUCTION STEPS
  • Orbit Luna/Moon or other bodies
  • Time warp or wait till craft is nearing dark side of moon or planet
  • Wait till the sun has set over the horizon
  • Observe the Sun set below the horizon, yet craft is lit by sun for quite some time. (Even after the sun bloom/glare has set)
Operating System: Windows 11 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 26200) (26100.ge_release.240331-1435)

That sounds like the limit at which the game understands the vessel to be "behind the planet surface" is not yet precisely set. As in, the vessel eventually looks like it is in the shadows once the vessel travelled further on its orbital trajectory, behind the planet.
The inverse happens for an orbital sunrise: the vessel is lit too late.
