Question Does Anyone Know How To Make Work On Mac?

I know it isn't designed for mac, but also that people have gotten it to work I believe? I followed all the steps to get it onto mac, installing Sikarugir, making a wrapper etc. etc., and I CAN install and launch the game, it comes up with the starting settings screen where I select all the textures and shadow detail and such, then i press start, it loads all the stuff and renders and whatever, and then says loading complete, and then crashes. I'm a dumb dumb but this is what claude told me to post after giving it my test run log and helping me through the whole process: "KSA crashes on Mac (M2) when running through Sikarugir/Wine. The log shows MoltenVK failing with 'DrawIndex is not supported in MSL' when compiling shaders. Is there any way to fix on Mac". Basically I asked it to explain it to me and it said the shaders in the game have no way of working on mac even if I select DXVK, D3DMetal, or DXMT. Game looks awsome, love what the developers are doing making this cool game free and all, if anyone has had success on mac, or knows a fix, I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks.

First, hello! Welcome to the forums.

I figured out the Sikarugir process a few months back but have also had issues getting it to work on recent versions of the game. It’s entirely possible that certain rendering parts of the game that are in flux just don’t play nicely with the translation layers right now. I haven’t had the chance to mess around with it in a while and honestly I don’t have the technical background to think I can reason my way through it. Possibly just lucky banging rocks together.

Hopefully someone with the right know-how can get a stable solution together. At least until RW eventually adds some macOS builds to the mix 🤞
