Well hello there, fellow individuals hoping to go to space today, or later.
I've been keeping an eye on this project since finding out about it shortly after it was announced in the wake of the final implosion of ksp2. While initially cautious, in light of that whole mess, as I think many of us were, the approach they are taking, people they have on the team, amazing communication and community involvement, and Dean's whole attitude and philosophy, has definitely won me over.
It's incredibly ironic really, that, if it continues on this trajectory, and is able to meet the potential that it is showing, the crash and burn of ksp2 could end up being the best thing that could have happened for us.
While I wouldn't call myself a full on ksp old timer, I have been around a goodly while, including on the old forum, though I kinda bowed out partway through early access, but before it was cancelled, because the vibe there had soured quite a bit from how it was before, at least for any discussion even slightly relating to the second game.
Poking around here when I came to register, though, I couldn't help but notice some old familiar handles, and decided that I would go ahead and also use the same name I had back there. As a bonus, while I don't always use the same picture for everything, my favorite profile picture, for ages, is so incredibly well suited for this. I feel confident that this will be a friendly, welcoming, and helpful community, and, undoubtedly, interesting, knowledgeable, and educational to boot.
I look forward to accompanying everyone on this journey as we watch, and participate in, the development (and hopefully heal some of those wounds from before along the way) of this project.
Good holiday times, of whatever kind you choose, to everyone
