Editor mode breaks when drawing parts, Frame rate drops when clicking parts in parts list

What Happened​

Impossible to build new vehicle + Frame rate dropping continually

What Was Expected​

Drawing a part from the Parts list, in Editor mode, displays the part on screen, frame rate is consistent

Reproduction Steps​

  1. Brand new save in "Testing" Game Type, click: File > Build New Vehicle
  2. Click the Capsules tab, click and hold the first capsule part, drag on the middle of screen
  3. The mouse doesn't drag any part on screen, frame rate drops continually

None of the parts are being drawn correctly in the Editor mode. Frame rate consistently drops when attempting to draw a part.

edit: + it seems like the camera does not see the vehicle being edited or the parts being taken from the parts list. They are however briefly visible for a frame or two, upon exiting the editor.

It looks like the camera itself isn't where it should be, when in Editor mode, hence the impression that parts aren't displayed on screen when selecting them in the parts list
 
Happens also on Linux with v2026.3.5.3775. Version 2026.3.2.3736 seems OK.

Also, when exiting the Editor multiple copies of parts that were selected briefly appear on screen.

I can confirm it happens on Windows build too. It looks like the camera doesn't actually see the vessel currently being edited, or even the parts being drawn out of the parts list, and when we exit the editor mode, all the parts are briefly visible for a frame or two.

Yep. And the more I fiddle with part list the worse it gets. It quickly drops to 20 FPS after first two parts and keeps getting lower and lower up to single-digit values. With massive slowdowns on the whole system. For reference v2026.3.2.3736 gives ~60 FPS on the same settings.

Console output doesn't produce anything meaningful either:

Same issue here (Windows 11, RTX 5080). Noticed each time I click the capsule the FPS tanks even more.

Did a renderdoc capture and clearly see an issue. There is 5000+ Vulkan event (instead of something like 1000). The Depth only pass is spending way too much time drawing... capsules over capsules and capsules? (4802 events in my capture)

I also want to report that when launching the game in "Sandbox" mode, I can't open the editor with the default keyboard shortcut. It's not a new issue, it's been there sine multiples releases.
