IVA Update! (Daishi's Dev Update #18)

A little tumble of my last week of solid IVA work - we have a fully unwrapped and consolidated capsule interior, AO baked, 90% textured, almost there! New upholstery (I am so sorry 😭, racing stripes were two decades out) alongside fully finished chairs, internal assets (joysticks, throttles, food tubes, stowage bags, modular floors, lights, switches, console baseplates, handles, toothbrushes, screws and zipties). Phew. 🐱💤

🐱
💤
The main shell is sitting at about 27,000 quads, which is around two and a half engines. Other assets are loaded in once and instanced as many times as we want them (a screw for example) with minimal GPU impact; so it shouldn't be too much of a performance hit once it's in-game.

🙂

Alright you've really got me with the cable bundles. Very cool stuff!

Thankyou all :D I do love how it looked with the first Ambient Occlusion bake, don't think I've shared those pics yet

Texturing continues! 💪
When it looks this good without the textures you know your on the right track, the cloth looks especially great, and the poly count seems satisfactory!

He deserves much more than a polaroid - but as a starting point why not :D Bound to be a lot more objects like that built over time to populate IVA spaces, I was going to do a few plushies and cat toys and things, but have much more pressing priorities now 💪
oh gods the legendary postit notes
and cat memes
and murasaki got the deserved recognition

great work with this Daishi! IVA is underrated. In KSP (for me at least) it is something you discover after you have the basics nailed. Gateway drug to joystick/sim. Looking forward to trying it out in KSA soon!
