just fired up KSA for the first time, and noticed some odd behavior on the default rocket.

the central core appears to deplete the center first, then not draw fuel in from the ring of tanks around it, even though the engine is set to consume from farthest in stage. is this supposed to happen? i didn't see any fuel lines or anything like that in the parts list when i go to build.

also went for a luna intercept, didn't mark encounter until i was on a collision course with it-be nice if it would let me know i was entering luna soi slightly earlier. is there something i'm missing?

Hi, Welcome 👋

I cant add anything to your 1. Point since i have not played with the default rocket in the new build. You can however add fuel lines and configuer fuel draining behaviour in the debug editor. Also feel free to design your own rocket! :)

Regarding the 2. Point. This is a relatively new bug bug and should be fixed in the future :) https://forums.ahwoo.com/threads/ve...with-no-encounter-and-no-soi-transition.1082/
Please upvote my bug report / comment that you can replicate it so that it receives more attention
😄

Welcome to the forums!

Welcome aboard!

Hopefully Maxi's tech support has helped.

The fuel lines are already installed, but they don’t have a separate model yet—they’re just placeholder models. You can see two identical spherical RCS tanks in the component menu of the latest vehicle editor. Check their names, and you’ll notice one of them is the fuel interface. Just attach it to your vehicle, right-click to open the menu, find the related option, and you can start editing.:)

yeah but by default they don't seem to actually work. the central core runs dry and kills the motor while the radials are still happily burning.

on second thought, are they set up to draw fuel out from the central into the outer ones? that seems silly if that's the case. may as well have no fuel lines at all so they all burn equally

Maybe you didn't give the core enough fuel, you could try using a solid rocket as a booster to see.
